After a party in a nightclub in Prague on July 11, hygienists registered 68 patients infected with the coronavirus. Over fifty people were infected in the club. Others were infected by their family members and loved ones. To date, 121 people have been quarantined. According to the media, footballers and floorball players from several sports clubs are also infected.

According to hygienists, 15 of the 17 participants in the celebration became infected. “Another epidemiological investigation has so far managed to find 37 infected people, who state that they were not direct participants in the celebration, but moved in the same premises of the club,” said Jágrová.

According to Jágrová, hygienists exposed quarantine to all infected family members and 121 persons who were in further contact with the infected.

Jágrová told Czech Television that the participants included athletes from various clubs. “There was one person who had no problems at the time of attending the event. The first difficulties were the day after,” she added.

According to reports, football players from Sparta, Dukla, and Bohemians 1905 reserve teams are among those infected after the party at the club. Dukla reports one infected teenager in the selection under the age of 19, Sparta did not state the number of patients. However, the situation allegedly does not affect the A-teams of these clubs. According to Tn.cz, players of the Prague team of the floorball Black Angels were also infected.

According to Jágrová, more than sixty people infected due to one event in Prague are an extraordinary case. For example, last month, the number of newly recorded cases of COVID-19 in Prague for the entire week ranged between 60 and 100.
