Researchers testing sewage to track COVID-19

Czech researchers have begun testing wastewater to track the coronavirus outbreak.

Studies abroad suggest that the virus is present in excrement even during the incubation period of infected individuals.

A higher concentration of the virus in wastewater corresponds to more infected people giving researchers an early warning of potential hot spots.

Researchers are testing samples from 17 wastewater plants around the country.
