Global COVID-19 deaths have exceeded one million, AFP reports according to its calculations. According to these calculations, the number of coronavirus infections exceeded 33 million.
The agency said 1,000,009 COVID-19 deaths were officially recorded worldwide.
The number of cases reached 33,018,877, of which 22,640,048 people recovered.
According to AFP, 5,273,943 cases of coronavirus infection and 229,945 deaths were reported in Europe alone.
The novel coronavirus appeared at the end of last year in Hubei’s central Chinese province. From there, in the following months, it spread throughout the world, which now faces not only a health crisis but also an economic downturn.
