Czech coronavirus cases pass 10,000

The number of confirmed novel coronavirus cases in the Czech Republic now exceeds 10,000, according to Ministry of Health data. More than two-thirds of Covid-19 patients have recovered, 117 are hospitalised in serious condition, and 329 people died with the disease.

At the turn of March and April, the daily rise in reported cases exceeded 300 on some days. Since April 22, following restrictions imposed by the government, the increase exceeded 100 on just two days, a level not seen since mid-May. On Sunday, 33 more cases were registered, bringing the total to 10,024 people.

In Prague, to date 2,321 cases of Covid-19 have been detected, with more than 178 people infected per 100,000 inhabitants.
