There were 1,887 cases of infection in the Czech Republic with a new type of coronavirus on Sunday, at least since 5 October. Compared to last Sunday, the increase is halved. Compared to Saturday, the number of cases decreased by 2312. However, at the weekend, less testing is usually performed, and the number of tests performed has decreased throughout the past week. Since March, tests have shown over 460,000 cases. Most of the infected had a mild course of the disease. Six thousand two hundred eight people have died with coronavirus since March. There were 65 deaths on Sunday, the lowest daily number in the last month. According to the Ministry of Health.

There are currently 126,602 infected in the country. According to the latest available data, 7,200 people were hospitalized in hospitals on Saturday, with almost 1,100 assessing the condition seriously.

According to experts, the spread of the Czech Republic epidemic has been slowing down, especially in the last week; the numbers of new positive tests are lower in the week-on-week comparison. At the same time, however, the number of tests decreased the previous week. On Monday and Tuesday, the number of tests decreased by thousands compared to the last week, and by more than 10,000 on the remaining days of the week. The ministry will inform about 18:00 about the number of tests performed on Sunday today after 18:00. About a quarter of those tested is still infected. On Saturday, the share of proven infections in the number of tests was 26 percent.

The number of deaths continues to rise. Since the beginning of November, more than 2,700 people have died with coronavirus, most of them 250 on Tuesday 3 November. Last week, there were 130 to 200 victims a day, and on Sunday, the ministry has registered 65 deaths so far, which is at least the last month. However, with subsequent updates, death data usually change.

The worst situation currently remains in the Vysočina region, with four of its five districts being the most affected. In the past seven days, hygienists in the Havlíčkův Brod region have recorded 707 infections per 100,000 inhabitants, and in the Pelhřimov region 689. Žďársko and Jihlavsko also have over 600 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. On the contrary, the best performers are Prague and Prague-West, where there were around 206 cases of coronavirus per 100,000 inhabitants in the past week.

From today, the Ministry of Health will start publishing risk scores every day, according to which anti-coronavirus measures will be relaxed or tightened. If the figure remains below 75 by Wednesday, the health ministry will propose to the government to relax the measure, which could apply from next Monday. The move would mean, for example, the opening of primary schools for all children from the first grade, alternating classes for the second grade, or the postponement of the night curfew from 21:00 to 23:00. Minister Robert Plaga will present details of a possible disintegration in education at a press conference today. On Wednesday, first-graders, and second-graders, and pupils from special schools, will return to school.

Today, the government will consider a proposal to extend the state of emergency. The Minister of Health wants to ask the House for an extension for 30 days. Currently, the state of emergency is valid until this Friday. The lower house should probably discuss the extension on Thursday.
