Two Czechs jailed in Norway over fake COVID-19 test results
A Norwegian court has sentenced two Czech women to 30 days in prison for submitting a false negative coronavirus test on two occasions. They went to Norway to work after having bought fake coronavirus test results in Sweden.
Both women crossed the Norwegian border only a day before the country banned foreigners’ entry due to coronavirus on January 29. They showed the false test when crossing the border between Sweden and Norway across the Strait of Svinesund. Previously, they had acquired it fraudulently in Sweden because they did not want to risk losing the opportunity to get to Norway before the border closed by waiting for the regular test results. They later showed a fake test even when officials came to check them in their apartment in Oslo.
