Train hits car, killing one person in Heřmaničky

A train collided with a car at the railway crossing in Heřmaničky in the Benešovsko region in the early evening. The car’s 49-year-old driver did not survive the accident; people on the train escaped from the accident without injury. Operation on the line in the Votice-Heřmaničky section was interrupted.

The crash was reported around 5:45 p.m. “The traffic accident happened at a railway crossing without barriers in the cadastre of the village of Heřmaničky. The driver of a car suffered injuries, which she succumbed to on the spot,” the spokeswoman said. According to the breath test, the driver did not drink alcohol.

There are spare buses between Votice and Heřmaničky station. According to the Czech Railways website, traffic on the railway should be limited to 21:00.
