Slovakia closes borders to non-residents
Slovakia significantly tightens the measures taken in connection with the new coronavirus epidemic. The county is banning foreigners from entry, only permanent or temporary residents will be allowed to enter.
Slovakia has confirmed six new cases of infection so far, with a total of 16 infected, according to authorities. Two of them are hospitalized in the intensive care unit.
All Slovaks returning to the country from abroad will have to enter the mandatory domestic quarantine. So far, the quarantine was only valid for people returning from four countries, including Italy. Slovakia has previously banned visits to hospitals, which are also gradually postponing planned operations.
