President’s Office releases footage of Zeman signing convocation of Chamber of Deputies
The head of the Office of the President, Vratislav Mynář, has objected to allegations that he or anyone else manipulated or forged the President Miloš Zeman’s signature on a document convening the new Chamber of Deputies in early November.
At a press briefing on Thursday, Mr Mynář presented video footage showing the president signing the document in question in the presence of the chairman of the lower house, Radek Vondráček. He also said he was ready to cooperate with the police.
As regards informing about the president’s state of health, Mr Mynář said the office has proceeded in line with relevant legislation.
He also announced that the traditional awarding of state honours on 28 October will be postponed to a later date unless the head of state decides otherwise.
