No evidence Sparta Prague fans racially abused Rangers' Kamara: UEFA - Czech Points

The Czech Republic has not yet received an official response to the request of Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek (CSSD) to apologize to the Scottish Football Association over the statements of its adviser after the European League match between Prague’s Sparta and Glasgow Rangers. When asked by ČTK, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced this today. At the beginning of October, Kulhánek summoned the British Ambassador to the Czech Republic, Nick Archer, to discuss with him the insults of Czech children in the media and on the Internet in connection with the match.

The crowd at the match at the Sparta Stadium at the end of September was condemend by the British media, coach Rangers and Kamar’s lawyer.

Equality and Diversity Adviser Marvin Bartley wrote on Twitter that it was by no means the fault of children because they behave the way they see adults. “What chance do they have when placed in a bowl of rotten fruit,” he added, adding a photograph of rotten strawberries. Kulhánek asked Archer to interpret the Scottish Football Association’s request for an apology or a clear distance from the adviser.

“We do not have an official report, but the minister’s request was repeated this week during his visit to Scotland, Deputy Minister Martin Smolek,” Ministry spokeswoman Eva Davidová told ČTK. Smolek in Scotland was at the reopening of the Honorary Consulate in Edinburgh.

Young fans roared to show their aversion to the Finnish dark-skinned midfielder, who accused Ondřej Kúdel’s defender of racist insult in the March eight finals of the European League against Slavia. Kamara then announced that a racist remark had been directed at him from Kudela, and he physically attacked him after the match. Although Kúdela denied racism, he was banned from starting in ten matches by UEFA, losing the European Championship. For the attack on Kudel, the disciplinary commission stopped Kamar from working for three matches.

According to Kulhánek, the resentment that manifested itself against Kamar had nothing to do with his skin color, but with the aforementioned earlier events.
