The Czech lower house has voted to allow the current state of emergency to remain in place for another 30-day period, meaning until January 22. The government will now extend the state of emergency at a meeting on Wednesday.
The motion was supported by the governing coalition of ANO and the Social Democrats, as well as the Communist Party.
The government’s five-level system of Covid-19 restrictions is predicated on a state of emergency being in place.
