Kulhánek to head Czech delegation to United Nations - Czech Points

The Czech delegation will be led by Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek (CSSD) at the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York from 20 to 25 September. The ministry stated this in today’s notice. Last year and the year before, the Czech Republic was represented by Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (YES).

One of the main topics of the assembly will be the situation in Afghanistan after the radical Taliban movement took power in the country after the departure of Allied troops.

Kulhánek will address the general debate on Saturday 25 September. He will also speak at meetings on the General Convention on the Prohibition of Nuclear Testing and at ministerial meetings on the responsibility to protect and the International Criminal Court. He will also take part in an informal meeting of the heads of diplomacy of the countries of the European Union.

Kulhánek also has meetings with senior UN officials and counterparts from various countries. He will also conduct a bilateral visit to the United States focused on meetings with prominent Czech scientists and entrepreneurs.

The general debate of the 76th session of the UN General Assembly will begin on Tuesday, with US President Joe Biden speaking. The meeting closes on 27 September.
