Jaromir Jagr awarded Medal of Merit by Zeman

President Miloš Zeman awarded high state distinctions to 42 Czech and foreign personalities on the occasion of Czechoslovak Independence Day on October 28th.

President Miloš Zeman gave the Medal of Merit to ice hockey star Jaromir Jágr, photographer Jan Saudek, Serb film director Emir Kusturica and interwar female car racer Eliška Junková at the celebration of the national holiday.

The list of the record 42 laureates includes athletes, artists, scientists, doctors, business people, and politicians.
