Czech shoppers are expected to spend CZK 800 million shopping online on Black Friday. 250 percent more than a typical Friday. Sales are expected to increase 25 percent over last year. Yet it will not be the peak of the holiday shopping season. Which is around December 10, when purchases are likely to exceed one billion.

The tradition of the Black Friday sale comes from the USA. However, according to Heureka.cz, it’s not true that goods are cheaper in November. Individual retailer prices may vary by up to 50 percent on average. In some categories, people will find better deals in December.

Czech e-commerce pre-Christmas sales should increase by approximately CZK 5 billion to CZK 50 billion this year, according to the Association for E-Commerce. For the whole year, the volume of the market will increase by approximately 15 percent.
