Czech Republic reports 4,246 new COVID-19 cases - Czech Points

There were 4,246 confirmed coronavirus infections in the Czech Republic on Tuesday. That’s 1,163 less than Monday and half of Tuesday last week. On days off, however, it is usually less tested. Compared to Saturday, the number is 48 higher. This follows from current information on the website of the Ministry of Health.

The risk score, according to which anti-coronavirus measures will be relaxed or tightened in the Czech Republic, remained at 70 points out of 100 today. The Ministry of Health has previously stated that it will propose to the government.

The risk score is kept at 70 points on the seventh day. The points correspond to the fourth degree of measures against covid-19, but at present, the measures for the fifth, worst degree, still apply.

Last week, the ministry said that if the number remains below 75 to date, it will propose to the government to ease measures. This could probably be true from next Monday.

Since March, when the disease began to spread in the Czech Republic, coronavirus has been detected in 469,769 people. Three-quarters of them have already recovered. The number of deaths with covid-19 rose by 56 to 6,558 on Tuesday, with more than 3,000 casualties in November. So far, most people with covid died on November 3, killing 253 victims.

There are currently 109,417 infected people in the country, most of whom have a mild disease course. There were 6868 patients in the hospitals on Monday, of which 1008 were in serious condition. The number of hospitalized increased by 276.

The number of tests last week fell by thousands and on some days by more than 10,000. Also, on Monday, the laboratories performed fewer tests compared to the previous week. The ministry will inform about the number of Tuesday’s tests tonight. The daily share of positive tests has remained around 21 percent since Sunday, about a quarter of them a few days before.

The worst situation in the Czech Republic remains in the Vysočina region. In the Havlíčkův Brod region, hygienists recorded 675 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the past seven days and 539 in the Pelhřimov region. Prague follows it with 158 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.

Some measures against covid are changing from today. After about a month’s break, freshmen and sophomores return to primary schools, and after two weeks, special schools also open. The new rules apply from today for the operation of shops. Each customer must have an area of 15 square meters for themselves when purchasing. Vendors must manage queues inside and in front of stores and monitor compliance with two-meter spacing between people. At the same time, the closing time is extended from the current 19:59 to 21:00, from which the curfew begins to apply. As of today, catering establishments may also be open for longer. As of today, 15 people are allowed to attend weddings, funerals, or services. So far, it has been ten.
