Czech Republic reports 121 new coronavirus cases - Czech Points

Laboratories confirmed 121 new cases of covid-19 in the Czech Republic on Monday, 55 more a week ago. The daily gains of those infected thus remain the lowest since last summer’s holidays. The number of people infected last week per 100,000 inhabitants has dropped to eight from the previous nine. However, the reproductive number increased slightly again but remains below one, which means a slowdown in the epidemic. According to the Ministry of Health.

The reproduction number, which shows the average number of infected from one positive test, increased from 0.84 to 0.88. It is true that the lower one below the value, the more the epidemic slows down. It has been below number one since mid-April.

Since the beginning of March last year, when coronavirus tests in the Czech Republic were first confirmed, covid has demonstrably suffered over 1.66 million people, about 98 percent of them have recovered and 30,283 people have died. There are now 79 people with covid in hospitals, ten of them in serious condition. However, the statistics do not include those who are negative for covid but still have serious health problems and require intensive hospital care.

More than 158,000 people took the coronavirus tests on Monday, most of them antigenic tests. There were 30,000 more accurate PCR tests. Last Monday, the labs performed more tests, about 73,000. The share of the most frequently performed tests – preventive – is now positive at 0.02 percent. About half a percent is positive in diagnostic tests that people undergo, for example, undergo. In the epidemiological indication of tests, where people are tested, for example, for possible contact with the infected person, the proportion is 0.17 percent. When the epidemic peaked in the spring, the positives of the tests were many times higher.

Among the regions, there is now the occurrence of the disease according to the so-called incidence number, ie the number of infected in the past week per 100,000 inhabitants, preferably the Karlovy Vary and Hradec Králové regions. There are two cases of infection per week per 100,000 inhabitants. On the contrary, the highest number with 17 cases is currently in Prague. In all regions, the number has decreased or remained the same to date, except the capital, where it has increased from the previous 16 cases.

According to experts, the higher vaccination coverage of the population helps to improve the coronavirus situation. Since the beginning of June, medics have vaccinated over 110,000 people a day on weekdays.

According to the Ministry, on Monday, 105,000 people received a vaccine, according to data from the Ministry of Data, which may change back, which was about 8,000 less in a week-on-week comparison. A total of 7.3 million doses of vaccine have been administered in the Czech Republic since vaccination began last December. The majority of covid vaccines used in the Czech Republic are two-dose, 4.7 million Czechs have received at least one dose so far, and about 2.6 million people have been fully vaccinated.
