Czech health minister Vojtěch to quarantine after COVID exposure

Czech health minister Vojtěch to quarantine after COVID exposure - Czech Points

Minister of Health Adam Vojtěch has a negative coronavirus test, a ten-day quarantine awaits him, he announced on Twitter tonight. According to him, the functioning of the ministry is ensured without any problems. He underwent the test due to an infection with the chief hygienist Jarmila Rážová, with whom he was in contact.

Employees of the ministry, who spent more than 15 minutes with the chief hygienist, were to be tested for the COVID-19 disease today in addition to Vojtěch. “I have good news; I’m COVID negative. Now I have a ten-day home quarantine. I will function normally from a distance. After half a year with COVID, negotiations via video conferencing are quite common,” Vojtěch wrote.

Rážová was tested because she felt signs of illness. He is in home insulation. Prague hygienists have announced that they are finding contacts and assessing, which will require testing and quarantine.

The director of the Institute of Health Information and Statistics (ÚZIS), Ladislav Dušek, who, together with other members of the Central Management Team, participated in Tuesday’s meeting with Prime Minister Andrej Babiš (ANO), also tested positive. Dušek himself refused to confirm it. “Leave my health assessment to doctors, and I do not share my personal health information with anyone. I am not a public person, and my health condition may not be of interest to anyone. I am here from the data,” Dušek told the server.

According to the Prague hygienists’ decision, the prime minister stated that he did not have to be quarantined because, during the meeting, he sat at a sufficient distance from Rážová and complied with other preventive measures.

Today, Vojtěch canceled his program in the Karlovy Vary region. He was to visit the hospitals in Cheb and Sokolov. Although he arrived in Cheb, he apologized shortly after the start of the visit and, for preventive reasons, ended the visit and returned to Prague. The obligation to wear veils has been introduced in the Ministry of Health building, and some employees will work from home for preventive reasons, the spokeswoman said.
