4 dead in truck-van collision near Horni Redice
Four people died in a car accident that happened this afternoon near Horní Ředice in the Pardubice Region when a truck and van collided on highway I/35. Two passengers were seriously injured.
According to police statistics, there have been five accidents with three deaths so far this year. The most recent was on 23 September, when three people, including one child, were killed in a fiery multi-vehicle crash on the D1 motorway near Brno.
“Despite all efforts, four people died in today’s accident. Two patients went to the University Hospital in Hradec Králové in serious condition,” a spokesperson said.
Firefighters had to rescue people from crashed cars. According to the regional police’s operational officer, the road is completely closed, drivers must go around Holice and Chvojenec.
