Europe becomes first region to surpass 1 million COVID-19 deaths - Czech Points

According to Reuters, Europe has become the first region in the world to have more than a million people die with covid-19. It crossed this line when new variants of the virus had triggered a third wave of the epidemic in many countries.

According to Reuters statistics, at least 37.222 million people have been infected in the European region since the start of the current pandemic, and 1,000,062 have died. There are 51 countries in Europe, including the 27 member states of the European Union, Britain, and Russia.

There are 1,518 infected per 100,000 inhabitants. In second place is Estonia and in third place in Hungary. The Czechia also has the highest number of deaths per capita in two weeks: there are about 272 per million inhabitants. Slovakia and Hungary follow the Czech Republic.
