Ester Ledecka Will Carry Czech Flag At Olympic Closing Ceremony - Czech Points

Ester Ledecka, snowboarder and skier and a double gold medalist this Olympics, will have the honor of carrying the Czech flag during the closing ceremonies of the Olympic Games Sunday.

Ester Ledecka, won gold medals snowboarding and in the Super-G skiing event at the Olympics.

At the opening ceremony in Pyeongchang on February 9, snowboarder Eva Samkova, 24, the snowboardcross champion from the 2014 Sochi Olympics, carried the Czech flag. Czech Olympic athletes chose her.

Four years ago in Sochi, Czech Alpine skier Sarka Strachova carried the flag at the opening ceremony. In Vancouver eight years ago, it was hockey player Jaromir Jagr and at the 2006 Turin Winter Olympics, speed skater Martina Sablikova.

One of he most successful Czechs at the Olympics always carries the flag at the games’ final ceremony.

At the end of the Sochi Olympics, the flag bearer was biathlete Ondrej Moravec, his predecessors were other winter Olympic medalists: free-style skeir Ales Valenta, cross-country skier Katerina Neumannova and speed skater Martina Sablikova.
